History

Founded in 2020, Aruba Adventist Academy is a faith-based elementary and high school that offers US based education via a blended-learning platform. Combining teachers and new technology in a classroom setting, Aruba Adventist Academy enables students to connect with the latest teaching methods in an Adventist Christian environment. In keeping with the SDA education philosophy of recognizing the role of parents as the primary educators of their children this school will be a natural fit. We are offering grades K-12 currently.

The presence of Adventist education on the island of Aruba dates back to August 11, 1968, when the first Adventist school, John Nevins Andrews School, was inaugurated. In September of 2020, the former J. N. Andrews School was merged with an integration school named Prins Bernard School, and became Aruba Adventist Academy. Offering American-based education is either Spanish or English in a blended-learning educational approach.

Foundational to Adventist education is the principle of educating more than one’s intellect. Greek philosopher Aristotle once said, “educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.” For Seventh-day Adventists, education extends even further—it reaches the soul. Resultantly, symbols included in the logo consist of the following:

  1. Mind – Intelligence
  2. Heart – Spirituality
  3. Hand – Service
  4. Laptop – Technology
  5. Adventist Education Logo
